New Song is a church where no perfect people are allowed, because there are no perfect people! We want you to come as you are because that is how God takes us - just as we are. From there, we help each other grow to be all God intended us to be.

At New Song, you don't have to dress up. You don't have to be any particular age. We could care less who you voted for in the last election. New Song is a place where God meets people who are seeking God and who are far from perfect. That means that anyone is welcome, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. So learn at your own pace. Ask questions. Seek God and seek answers. We believe that you'll find what you are looking for. You'll learn how to relate to God. You'll experience Christian community and friendship. And here's the big thing - you will be changed by it. Wherever you are in life, we have a place for you to connect with God and other people just like you.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our Sunday services!

Statement of Faith

We adhere to the following principles regarding our foundational beliefs:

In essential beliefs we have unity. "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus." - Romans 15:5

In nonessential beliefs we have liberty. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened by a yoke of slavery." - Galatians 5:1

In all our beliefs we show love. "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." - 1 John 4:7

Essential Beliefs

About God. We believe there is one God; who is creator and maker of the universe, existing eternally and manifesting himself in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, who are one in essence and equal in power and glory.

About Jesus Christ. We believe that God has revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ. He is fully God and fully man, the eternal and only begotten Son of God. Our Lord Jesus was supernaturally conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin – Mary, a lineal descendant of David. Jesus Christ lived and taught and performed mighty works, wonders, and signs exactly as recorded in the four Gospels. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, making atonement for our sins by His death on the cross and vindicated by God in His bodily resurrection, ascended to heaven to sit at God's right hand as our Intercessor and as our Advocate.

The Lord Jesus, before His incarnation, existed in the form of God and of His own choice laid aside His divine glory and took upon Himself the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. In His pre-existent state, He was with God and was God. He is a divine person possessed of all the attributes of Deity, and should be worshiped as God by angels and man. "In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." All the words that He spoke during His earthly life were the words of God. There is absolutely no error of any kind in them, and by the words of Jesus Christ the words of all other teachers must be tested. The Lord Jesus became in every respect a real man, possessed of all the essential characteristics of human nature.

About the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is present in the world today in the person of the Holy Spirit who draws us to faith in Jesus and who bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. He indwells the believer which empowers him to manifest the likeness and character of Christ. He gives spiritual gifts to the church for our mutual edification. The Holy Spirit is a person, and is possessed of all distinctively divine attributes. He is God.

About the Bible. We believe the Bible, consisting of all the books of the Old and New Testaments, is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, a supernaturally given revelation from God Himself, concerning Himself, His being, nature, character, will and purposes; and concerning man, his nature, need, duty and destiny. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are without error or misstatement in their moral and spiritual teaching and record of historical facts. They are without error or defect of any kind and are an inerrant guide for our lives.

About Humanity. We believe that men and women were created by God in His image, free as to choice and responsible to his or her Creator. Tempted by Satan, mankind separated itself from God by voluntary disobedience. As a consequence all men and women are born with a sinful nature and have need of reconciliation with God. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men and women, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.

About Salvation. We believe that men and women can be saved from the consequence of sin, which is eternal death, by the grace of God through his or her faith in Jesus Christ and in their repentance of sin. Men and women cannot earn nor work for their salvation. When one is saved he or she is said to be "born again" by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

By His death on the cross, the Lord Jesus made a perfect atonement for sin, by which the wrath of God against sinners is appeased and a ground furnished upon which God can deal in mercy with sinners. He redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse in our place. He who Himself was absolutely without sin was made to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Humanity is justified on the simple and single ground of the shed blood of Christ and upon the simple and single condition of faith in Him who shed the blood, and are born again by the quickening, renewing, cleansing work of the Holy Spirit, through the instrumentality of the Word of God. All those who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and their Lord, and who confess Him as such before their fellow men, become children of God and receive eternal life. They become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. At death their spirits depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness, and at the Second Coming of Christ their bodies shall be raised and transformed into the likeness of the body of His glory.

About Eternity. We believe people were created to live forever. One will either exist eternally separated from God in a place called hell, or through faith in Christ, will be eternally united with Him in heaven. Men and women are created to exist forever. They will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe all those who persistently reject Jesus Christ in the present life shall be raised from the dead and throughout eternity exist in the state of conscious, unutterable, endless torment and anguish. We believe there is a personal devil, a being of great cunning and power: "The prince of the power of the air," "The prince of this world," "The god of this age." He can exert power only so far as God suffers him to do so. He shall ultimately be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone and shall be tormented day and night forever.

About Christ's Second Coming. We believe in the personal, literal return of Jesus Christ who will come again to receive His bride, the Church.

About Baptism. We believe that water baptism is by immersion only and is the initial act of obedient faith. Immersion is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as well as a picture of the new birth. We believe that baptism serves as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.

About the Lord's Supper. We Believe that humility in prayer is the foundation for all we do and that celebrating communion together weekly is beneficial for all Christians. We do not believe that the regular practice of the Lord's Supper is essential for salvation, but that the Lord’s Supper serves as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ. The Lord's Supper is conducted to remember Christ's atoning work on the cross, not as a means to receive it.

The Church. We believe that we are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ, which is the church. The church has the mission of carrying on the work of Christ on earth. We believe the church is the greatest force that God has established upon the earth to make an eternal difference in the lives of people. We believe that active participation in a local church is essential for all Christians. We are an independent Christian Church that is not connected to any denominational structure whatsoever. We are interdenominational in that we welcome Christian believers from all backgrounds.

Spiritual Gifts. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to manifest the character of Christ. We rely upon the Holy Spirit and believe in spiritual gifts. Spiritual giftedness and faithfulness determines where and how we serve. The primary signs of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit manifesting himself in the lives of believers are the fruits of the Spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23.

When and where was your salvation moment?

I was in my backyard praying to God to show me if I should surrender my life to Him and if so, I needed a sign of some kind. I was into peacocks at the time (don’t ask…) then a peacock came around the corner and opened its feathers, shook for a while, then left. I’ve been following the Lord ever since.

Why did you decide to go into ministry?

I had a Pastor tell me, "if I could do anything but get into the ministry… then do it, but if I can’t help it and you’ve been called to it … then you have to do it." Well, I can’t help it and I believe God in His Grace has called me to it.

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." - 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

When and where was your salvation moment?

I don't remember the exact date, but after going to Catholic church all my life, and not finding any peace, I attended New Song as a guest and decided to stay. Sometime in the summer of 2004 I realized what my life was missing. I was baptized on October 10, 2004.

Why did you decide to go into ministry?

It started with helping out, since I had 3 kids. Over the years, I've just been the person who has the time, so I continued doing it. Now God has changed my heart and desire to really enjoy this ministry.

When and where was your salvation moment?

Although I grew up in a Christian family and knew about Jesus and what He did for me, it wasn't until after college that I internalized and believed with my entire being how my life must change because of who Christ is and what His death and ressurection did for me. I asked God to become real to me, and He did just that! I gave my life to Christ in 2006, at New Song Christian Church.

Why did you decide to go into ministry?

Growing up as a Pastor's Kid, my parents' legacy for me was ministry. It only feels natural to serve the Lord. I can't just attend church once a week and go home. So, I get involved in whatever ministry the Lord leads me to. It's never easy, but He blesses me so much through it all.

What are you most passionate about?

God, His love, His promises, His Word. I'm also passionate about people and sharing life and God with them.
